Moustaches in Memory of Fallen Friend
A team of 8 is raising money this Movember for the Lincoln Rural Support Network.
We achieved our target and more this Movember!
Our team raised £455 (incl. Gift Aid), we would like to thank all the people that have donated to a member of our team or to LRSN directly this Movember.
Led by Associate Director Chris Whyles, a team of eight from the Lincoln office attempted to grow moustaches to raise awareness and funds for the LRSN.
Chris is part of a 200-strong group of Mark “Smiler” Richardson’s friends that took part in the challenge in his memory. Mark passed in 2018 and after hearing of his story, many of the team at Saul Fairholm decided to join in support of the charity.
Some of the team that took on the challenge include (left to right): Josh Cairns, Tom Blackman, Elliot Forbes, Daniel Bancroft, Craig Wells, Matthew Kirkland.
Chris said: “We lost a great friend who suffered with mental health difficulties. He delighted in growing facial furniture for Movember and was an ardent supporter of the LRSN.”
“I am part of a large group of his male friends using Movember as a vehicle to raise funds for this worthwhile local charity, to honour his memory and to keep him alive in our thoughts. We are all planning to meet up for a walk round his farm at the end of November followed by a drink in the pub that he owned to raise a glass to him and compare facial ferrets!”
“I am touched and very thankful to my colleagues who have kindly stepped up to support our fundraising endeavours for LRSN via our own Saul Fairholm Just Giving page.”
LRSN is a volunteer-led organisation that provides pastoral and practical support to farming and rural people during periods of anxiety, stress, and problems relating to their families and businesses.
