Accounts Seniors are involved in the preparation of accounts and management accounts for limited companies, sole–traders and partnerships to draft stage, ready for review, together with assistance on audit assignments.
Preparation of corporation tax computations and personal tax computations to draft stage, ready for review.
Mentoring and training of more junior members of the team.
It is expected that work will be undertaken both in the office and at client’s premises as required. It may be necessary for work to be undertaken in our Retford and Grantham offices as required and the ability to travel is desirable.
Our bookkeepers work with the client managers to look after a portfolio of clients, requesting records, carrying out bookkeeping on a range of different software, resolving queries and communicating with clients regarding their VAT liabilities. A range of different software will be used including, but not limited to Xero, Quickbooks, Sage Business Cloud and Sage Line 50.
Our clients operate in a variety of different sectors and knowledge of standard accounting, cash accounting, flat rate scheme and partial exemption is desirable.
Reconciliation of bank accounts, sales ledger and purchase ledger will be required.

Working as part of a team to provide administrative support for the whole company which will include assisting with: –
You will be responsible for preparing tax returns and delivering a quality compliance service, over time taking on a portfolio of tax cases, including self-employed, HNWIs and Directors, preparing and submitting annual self-assessment tax returns and computations, P11D and any other sundry HMRC forms on a timely basis. You may be required to assist in filing corporation tax returns and dealing with queries from accounts staff on corporation tax issues. You will collate and maintain client information, corresponding and dealing with client enquiries in relation to their tax issues and liabilities, ensuring any unresolved issues are referred to the Tax Director. You will maintain direct contact with clients, HMRC, solicitors, other accountancy firms, law, and professional services firms.
