Lincoln Office

Accounts Senior

Responsibilities

Accounts Seniors are involved in the preparation of accounts and managements accounts for limited companies, sole-traders, and partnerships to draft stage, ready for review, together with assistance on audit assignments.

Preparation of corporation tax computations and personal tax computations to draft stage, ready for
review.

Mentoring and training of more junior members of the team.

It is expected that work will be undertaken both in the office and at client’s premises as required. It may be necessary for work to be undertaken in our Retford and Grantham offices as required and the ability to travel is desirable.

Ideal Candidate:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or QBE, with at least three-years practice experience
  • Strong accounting system knowledge and Excel skills
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards and relevant taxation matters
  • Experience of working on audit assignments desirable
  • Ability to prepare year end accounts for companies, sole-traders, and partnerships to draft stage
  • A positive, enthusiastic team player
  • The ability to liaise with the other departments in the practice such as payroll and bookkeeping
  • Good organisational skills, capable of producing high quality work in which pride is taken
  • The ability to learn from constructive feedback and to learn and develop skills within the team

Lincoln Office

Accounts Semi Senior

Responsibilities

Accounts Semi Seniors are involved in the preparation of accounts for limited companies, soletraders and partnerships to draft stage, ready for review, together with assistance on audit assignments.

Preparation of corporation tax computations and personal tax computations to draft stage, ready for review.

Assistance may be required in the bookkeeping and VAT department.

It is expected that work will be undertaken both in the office and at client premises as required. It may also be necessary for work to be undertaken in our Retford and Grantham offices as required and the ability to travel is desirable.

Ideal Candidate:

  • AAT qualified or has suitable experience.
  • Strong accounting system knowledge and Excel skills
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards and relevant taxation matters
  • Experience of working on audit assignments desirable
  • Ability to prepare year end accounts for companies, sole-traders and partnerships to draft stage
  • Ability to accurately bookkeep for clients where necessary, together with experience of preparing VAT returns
  • A positive, enthusiastic team player
  • The ability to liaise with the other departments in the practice such as payroll and bookkeeping.
  • Good organisational skills, capable of producing high quality work in which pride is taken.
  • The ability to learn from constructive feedback and to learn and develop skills within the team.

Lincoln office

Our established Lincoln practice is looking to recruit an experienced bookkeeper.

Key responsibilities

• Bookkeeping for a number of clients, ensuring accurate entry of data.
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns for clients, liaising with client managers and monitoring deadlines for filing.
• To develop good working relationships with clients and other departments in the practice.

Ideal Candidate

• AAT qualified or has suitable experience
• Experience of working within a bookkeeping bureau
• Knowledge of various VAT schemes available
• Excellent communication skills and experience liaising with clients regarding their books and records, VAT liabilities
• Experience liaising with HMRC regarding VAT for clients
• Thrives in a busy department, with the ability to manage own workload
• Experience using a range of different software including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage Line 50.
• Attention to detail
• A positive, enthusiastic team player
• The ability to liaise with the other departments in the practice such as payroll and accounts.

Your Role

The role of bookkeeper involves working with the client managers to look after a portfolio of clients, requesting records, carrying out bookkeeping on a range of different software, resolving queries and communicating with clients regarding the VAT liabilities. A range of different software will be used including, but not limited to Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage Line 50.

Our clients operate in a variety of different sectors and knowledge of standard accounting, cash accounting, flat rate scheme and partial exemption is desired.

Reconciliation of bank accounts, sales ledger and purchase ledger will be required.

It is expected that work will be undertaken both in the office and at clients’ premises as required. It may be necessary for work to be undertaken in our Retford and Grantham offices as required and the ability to travel is desirable.
